On the morning of Monday, August 18, 2008 NGKC staff from Beijing and Tianjin, China, arrived at AKC Operations Center, Raleigh, NC. They were greeted by Mr. Robin Stansell, AKC staff, and AKC’s COO, Mr.John Lyons.

What was the NGKC Staff trained for.

On day one, after a complete tour of the facilities they were introduced to AKC’s training staff, and had lunch shortly after. The afternoon session included an overview of the Registration System, specifics in NGKC Registration application forms, completing applications at shows, taking DNA samples, and microchip insertion.
The rest of the week included;
Updating Registration Information, Transfer of Ownership and Dog Search, test examples for Open, Foreign, Update and transfer of registrations.
Define DNA process, Add DNA samples, Process DNA from labs, Registration Certificate output, Add Customer, Update Customer and Customer Search.
Add Whelp Record, Edit Whelp Record, Whelp Search, AKC Recognized Foreign Registries, Registrable Breeds, Acceptable Colors for NGKC Registrable Breeds,
Acceptable Markings for NGKC Registrable Breeds, and Process for Reporting Issues,
Adjustments and additions to computer interface systems, Final Exam,
Provide NGKC staff with real world examples to demonstrate system features.

The week of August 25 to 28 was assigned to Dog Show managment. Topics covered were;
Show Secretary Overview of duties, Premium Lists, Practical Exercises, Ribbons and Rosettes, Special Equipment, a Field Trip to Superintendent’s Office, Ring Layout, Day of Show Entries, Show Results, Accepting Entries, Practical Exercises, Entry Confirmation, Judging Schedule,
Judges Books, Show Catalog, and Field Trips to various Dog Shows.
