The NGKC 2008 Annual Awards Ceremony was held at the Banquet Hall of the Beijing Kunlun Hotel, On November 30t, 2008. Nearly 200 dog fancy guests were invited, including AKC’s Chairman Mr. Menaker and Vice Chairman Mr. Merriam who traveled all the way from the United States. NGKC’s Chairman & President Mr. Shi Zhaoxin, and Vice President & CEO Mr. Wang Wu gave the warm welcome to all of the distinguished guests.

NGKC awarded twelve prizes to the great contributors for the development of NGKC. ‘Contribution Award’ was won by AKC’s Chairman, Mr. Ron Meneker; ‘Annual Best News Award’ was won by Mr. Hu Tonglie, the General Manager of China Dog Show Website; ‘Network Technology Commitment Award’ was won by Mr. Wang Yongjun, the CEO of 51 Topdog Website; ‘Best Contribution to Unity Award’ was won by Ms. Yang Ling, Chairman of the China Chow Chow Club; ‘Best Dog Show Operation Award’ was won by Mr. Zhang Jicheng, Chairman of the Beijing Siberian Husky Club; ‘Best Sponsor Award’ was won by Mr. Wang Yunfei, the General Manager of the Beijing Yu Kang Yuan Commerce and Trade Ltd. CO.; ‘Best Dog Show Organization’ was won by Mr. Liang Tao, the Chairman of the Beijing All-Breed Kennel Club; ‘Best Professionalism Award’ was won by Mr. Shen Yan-leung the manager of the Excellence Kennel Club; ‘Best Meritorious Dog Award’ was Robin, a golden retriever, from the Giant Star Kennel Club. The ‘Best Humanitarian Award’ was won by
Ms. Vivian Hong, chairman of Show Time Magazine. ‘Best Care Award’ was won by CSCN, the Canine Society of China, a dog welfare organization; ‘May 12th Rescue Award’ was won by the General Manager of Jin Jia Jun Kennel Club, Mr. Qin Tian, and the handler of the rescue dog, Jiaga.

NGKC also put on an auction at the gala named the "Heart of Love" to raise funds for the handicapped children from the Beijing Li Zhi Health Center, in the Fengtai District.
NGKC staff has provides dogs to the Health Center to the children to interact with and play.
The items auctioned were all made by the children of the Health Center, and all the proceeds will be used for the purchase of a new heating system to ensure every child has a warm, and comfortable winter. With the great support of the guests present, the first item, Fuwa, the official mascots of the 2008 Olympic Games, was bought by Mr. Wang Yuanhu, the General Manager of the Hufa Pet Breeding Center, at the bid price of 25,000 RMB; The second item was bought by the Chairman of the Beijing Husky Club at the bid price of 20,000 RMB; The item, a plum bonsai, was bought by the General Manager of Jin Jia Jun Kennel Club, Mr. Qin Tian, at the price of 18,000 RMB. Meanwhile, Mr. Nei Qiming, the Chairman of the Tianli Group donated 60,000 RMB and Mr. Shen Yanliang, Chairman of the Golden Retriever Kennel Club, and Mr. Liang Tao form the Excellence Club donated 20.000 RMB. Totally, NGKC raised 160,000 RMB for the Health Center ,s heating system. NGKC will cover the repair costs if they exceed the raised amount. We hoped that through this auction, the children of the Health Center could feel the society cares for them and loves them. NGKC’s mission is to respect and love all dogs. For the unfortunate, we have the responsibility and obligation to help them so that they could feel the warmth of this world. At the gala, the Chairman of AKC, Mr. Menaker showed his great confidence for the Chinese pure-bred dog fancy and promised his full support to NGKC. He believed that the AKC Global Services in China will be very successful.
