The show was held by Wuhan All Breed Kennel Club at the Chu Feng Yuan Garden, Wuhan City, Hubei province. It was fifth NGKC sponsored show following the strict AKC standards with 150 entries and all the dogs are identified by the AKC-GS DNA process. The following passage is written by our honorable judge Ms. Linda Hurlebaus:
The Wuhan Kennel Club put on a wonderful show March 15, 2009. The park was lovely and a great setting for both participants and spectators. The weather was sunny and warm and contributed to a perfect day. The hosts were most gracious and put on a well run show.
All the dogs were presented beautifully and well groomed. The quality was very good and there were many promising young puppies at the Puppy Match. My Best Puppy choice was a striking Chow Chow who moved well and had a regal attitude. Wonderful bone, expression, and coat.
The Sporting Group winner was a Golden Retriever. He was a flashy dog with strong movement; a great showman, possessing a good headpiece, front, topline, and tail carriage.
Hound Group winner was a young Longhair Dachshund bitch. This dog has a good headpiece, strong front, and nice long ribcage. Her topline and tail are level while correctly with a nice side gait.
The Working Group winner and my choice for BIS was the Siberian Husky. This dog has good balance and the strong movement required for the function of the breed. The dog was in good condition and well presented.
The Terrier group winner was a Miniature Schnauzer in lovely condition. This dog has good proportion, a pleasing head, and typical terrier attitude. He shows well and has good quality coat texture.
Toy winner was a Pomeranian. This dog was well presented and a little showman. His coat was beautiful and he moved around the ring well.
The Non-Sporting winner was a Bichon Frise. The sparkling white coat and good presentation was a bonus to the already good dog. This dog has a solid body and moves well around the ring. The headpiece and large dark eyes are very pleasing.
I was very pleased with the Invitational Herding dog entries. My Herding Group winner and Reserve BIS was a beautiful young merle Rough Collie. He has great type and is a very sound example of the breed. His balance and beautiful head and expression made him the outstanding Herding dog on the day.
