Chinese canine genetic disease research is almost blank due to the lateness of the modern Chinese purebred dog fancy development. The main factors of the occurrence of aggressive dogs and numerous strayed dogs, are gene mutation, genetic disease spread and canine characteristic mutation caused by the disordered breeding. As reported, via DNA identification, canine pedigree can be established by the purebred identification and various hereditary diseases will be examined, including hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, congenital cardiac disease, autoimmune thyroid disease, patellar luxation, congenital deafness, sebaceous adenitis, etc. DNA identification is the only way to maintain the purity and integrity of canine pedigree and decrease the occurrence of hereditary disease, which will advance the canine health and welfare and promote the Chinese purebred dog sport.
AKC-GS, with the biggest purebred registration management system in the world, will provide full support and technological service for Chinese dog fancy development and advance the Chinese purebred dog sport.
